The material is an all-leather collar - the upper leather layer is covered with a foil that resembles the carbon just mentioned. It is a very strong and durable material.
At the front you will find a metal eyelet, which is used to hang the ornament or attach a leash. The eyelet is welded, so there is no risk of damaging it even with a larger pull. You will also appreciate that the lower part of the eyelet is hidden between the reverse and front side - so it is not visible from the reverse side of the collar.
